MISSION COLLEGE, LONGBURN.

An enjoyable evening was spent at the Mission College, Longburn, on June 10, when Mr Barnao, of Palmerston North, gave an address on the life of Mussolini to the teachers and students. , Of particular import to the college was the great interest that Mussolini has taken in education. By his power 10,000 schools have been established. There has been a profound change in the attitude of the teachers, so now it is not a question of what to teach, but how to teach so that the student might not have a mere knowledge of the facts, but that he might have true wisdom to help in the practical affairs of life. At the conclusion of the address, the speaker was accorded a vote of thanks. This was moved by Mr Barnes and seconded by Mr Smith, both students of the college. Pleasing musical items, rendered by Mr and Mrs Clarke, Mr Quinhvan, Mr R. Piper, and a pianoforte trio played by three students, helped to make pleasant a very profitable evening.
