The last shipment of fruit to the United Kingdom was forwarded yesterday. The total for the season was 724,426, cases, as against 991,729 last year. The drop is due to this being an off season. The orchards, however, are in good condition and Mr J. H. Brunt, the shipping supervisor, 'anticipates that with suitable climatic conditions next year's crop in. an "on" year should exceed the present record. Delicious and Statesman cropped particularly well. The falling off was due mainly to light cropping by Stunners. Pear exports rose from 39,000 to 45,960 cases.
