FEILDING

ST. PAUL’S CHURCH. The “Come to Church” campaign being conducted by St. Paul’s Presbyterian Cliturch was continued on Sunday, a feature of the morning service being the induction of the five new elders, Messrs R. A. McFarland, A. Duthie, A. Reid, F. Finch and O. Aldis. A large congregation attended the service despite the inclement weather. The service was conducted by Rev. D. R. McDonald who took as his text, “Follow Your Leaders.”' Mr McDonald spoke appreciatively of the splendid work of our forefathers in laying the foundations of the Presbyterian branch of the universal Christian Church in this country, and pointed out that the Church had played no small part in the religious life of the community. He impressed upon the newly elected elders their honourable position in following the stalwarts of the past and called upon the congregation to give them sympathetic support in the , carrying out of their duties. HIGH SCHOOL GIRLS’ DANCE. Misses E. Clifford, D. Hunt, G. Bealing were the hostesses at a dance

given by the Feilding High Schopl girls on Friday evening for their friends, the hostesses being assisted by Masters S. Leitcli and R. Burgenn and Mr C. B. McClure. Mrs C. B. McClure and Miss E. M. Taylor acted as chaperones. The lounge had been gaily festooned with blue and old gold streamers and chrysanthemums in deep cream and old gold shades were used to give the finishing touches. A telegram competition was won by Miss Valmai Stewart and Master Dowrick, a Monte Carlo waltz by Miss Taylot and Master S. Leitclr, and a statue dance by Miss G. Bealing and Master Weston. Games were also played. A pianoforte solo was played by Miss Taylor. A very dainty Cabaret • supper was served. Miss Hunt wore a frock of pale apricot silk pique; Miss Clifford, turquoise blue satin; and Miss Bealing. raspberry silk marocain. Mrs McClure was gowned in black lace and Miss Taylor in white and silver brocaded velvet. Others present were Misses Hazel Quayle, Glory Quayle, Valmai Stewart, Joan Bower, Phyllis Lange, Noeleen Heap, Masters R. Burgenn, D. Hooper, Dowrick, Campbell, \Veston, Dor ward, Heap, Finlay, Smart, and G. Guthrie.
