PENALTY FOR ASSAULT.

Per Press Association. CHRISTCHURCH, May 8. In the Supreme Court, as a sequel to the relief works fatality, Clarence George Gibson, aged 43, married, for assaulting George Christopher Johan Bank, was sentenced to seven days’ imprisonment. As the sentence starts from the beginning of the session, only one day remains to be served.

Gibson was earlier found not guilty ou a charge of manslaughter.
