The French Minister of Commerce (M Sen-el, addressing the International Commercial Exchange Congress at Paris, said: "While foreign dumping has not altogether disappeared, progressive revision of French commercial treaties is desirable, leading to a replacement of the quota system as far as is possibleby measures' more in accordance with' orthodox economic theory." * , ■•■ ■Appealing for a reduction of trade barriers, he said that 'French imports had fallen by 43 per cent, and exports by 60 per cent., between 1927 and 1932.
