PROHIBITIVE BILL LOST.

The House of Lords, by 42 votes to 40, rejected Lord Danesforth’s Performing Animals Amendment Bill, prohibiting the training of chimpanzees and otlier anthropoid apes, also lions, tigers, panthers and bears. Lord Danesforth argued that the training was impossible without cruelty and serious danger to the trainers.
