FREE AMBULANCE.

MONTHLY MEETING. ’ The Palmerston North Free Ambulance committee held its usual monthly meeting at the ambulance station last evening, Major Bosworth presiding. There were also present: Messrs W. Jones, Spavy, Clitfe, Andrews. Lewis, A. Lloyd (managingorganiser) and Turnbull (secretarytreasurer). The managing-organiser reported that the new ambulance now in commission was quite satisfactory, being completely equipped and 14ins. longer than the' standard ambulance. Collections and donations were keeping up well and the number of calls was increasing. The monthly report revealed that the ambulance received 53 calls, made up as follow: —Palmerston North 37. Otaki 2, Feilding 5, Shannon 2, Manakau 2, Longburn 1, Tokomarit 1, Kairanga 1, Glen Oroua 1, Milson’s Line 1. The annual general meeting of the service will be held at the end of the month.
