Mansford being returned U 1 Fourteen nominations have been received for the nine seats °n the City Council and eight of the new aspirants. Of the old council, Messrs R. L. C. Aitcluson, • ■ Brown, W. B. Cameron H. B. free J. Hoclgens and G. Tremaine are again offering their services, Messrs W. L. Fitzherbert, G- O. Iveeblo and J. McLeod are not seeking election on this occasion. On tho Palmerston North Hospital Board there are six nominations tor the four vacancies. All tom representatives who sat on board last term are again ottering their services. . . No elections will be required where the Foxton and Wellington Harbour Board and the Manawatu-Oroua Power Board are concerned, the sitting members for Palmerston North being returned unopposed.! Ross (sitting members) and H. Osborne. An election will be necessary. An election will not be necessary as Mr. Nye is replacing Mr R. Bryant, who has retired because of ill-health.
