STARR-BOWKETT BUILDING SOCIETY.

Ballots for free of interest loans were held last evening in four groups by the Starr-Bowkett Building Society, the following being successful: —No. 3 Group, Mr G. B. Flint, £500; No. 4 Group, Mrs A. Tucker, £300; No. 5 Group, Mr J. T. Heatley, £3OO, and Mrs S. E. WilSon, £100; No. 6 Group, Mr A. L. Ramsay, £6OO. Mr M. A. Eliott presided at the meeting of the directors held at the conclusion of the ballots. Also present were Messrs J. B. Gerrand, F. Jackson, D. Morrison, S. W. Rapley, S. J. Watson and H. F. Wilson. Loans were finally approved for £SOO in Group No. 5 ; £SOO in Group 7; £IOOO in Group 8;' and £SOO in Group 9. Ballots will be held in several groups at next meeting and appropriations will be offered for sale in three groups.
