ENGLISH CRICKETERS.
RECEPTION IN WELLINGTON

WELLINGTON, March 20. The English cricketers arrived by the Maunganui this morning from Sydney and were accorded a warm welcome at the wharf, where they were received by representatives of the Cricket Council and members of the Wellington Cricket Association. As far as the health of the team is concerned, Leyland is still suffering from the injury to his side, received in Australia, and Hammond, after coming ashore, received medical attention for a septjc knee. The team is being received by the Prime Minister at Parliament Buildings this morning and there will be a civic reception at the Town Hall at noon. The team is to practise at the Basin Reserve this afternoon where, at Jardine’s suggestion, a collection will up for the unemployed.
