(From Our Own Codrespondent.) RONGOTEA, March 20.

Summer time ended on Saturday with a glow of torrid sunshine, 90. in the shade being recorded shortly alter midday. One player on the local tennis courts collapsed as a result of the heat. Darkness brought little relief, but about midnight rain commenced to fall and cooled the atmosphere. A return cricket match was played at Rongotca on Saturday—Kongoteu v. Makowhai Camp—Rongotca winning by six wickets. Lunch was served by local ladies, the members of the camp team expressing hearty appreciation for the hospitality received, anti also a good day’s sport. Jiakowhai winning the toss decided to go in first. Bowling: Holden, 4 for 13 On Saturday afternoon the Glen Oroua tennis team visited Rongotea to play the local team in a friendly game. A very fine afternoon’s tennis was enjoyed. At the conclusion of the match, Mr H. A. Probble on behalf of the Glen Oroua team, tiianked the local team and ladies, who provided afternoon tea. Glen Oroua won the match by 10 sets and /3 games to 6 sets and 69 games. The following are detailed results (Rongotea players mentioned first):-Men’s singles: R- Gloyn beat R. Prebble 6—3, W.
