REDUCED INTEREST.
DECISION IN AUSTRALIA. CANBERRA, Jan. 27. The Assistant Treasurer, Mr W. Massey Greene, announced to-day that the banks bad agreed to reduce the rate of interest charged on Government Treasury bills from 31 to 3i per cent. The saving to the various Governments would be £125,000 a year.
