NEAV ZEALAND CHAAIPIONSHIPS.

Aliss Sporle, of Feilding, who dead-lieated for second place in the 220 yards intermediate girls’ freestyle at the New Zealand swimming championships, led all the way in her heat and won easily by eight lengths. In the final, which was won by Aliss E. Rainey (Auckland). Aliss Sporle led Miss Walls (West Coast) by about a yard over the first 100 yards, which was covered in 72 2-ssec., but going down on the fourth lap Miss Rainey replaced Aliss AValls in second position, and she and the leader swam practically level until the final turn, when the winner drew out and gained the decision by a foot, Aliss Walls getting up in time to make a dead heat of it with Aliss Sporle for second place. H. Pierard, of Alanawatu, in winning the 75 yards junior boys’ breaststroke, led from the start and won easily by six yards.
