ACCIDENT ON GLACIER.

GUIDE’S LEG BROKEN. Per Press Association. HOKITIKA, Jan. 26. When near the main divide at the head of the Franz Josef Glacier, on Tuesday, Mr Mark Lysons, an experienced guide, in crossing a crevasse fell and broke his leg. Miss Ida Corry, a noted member of the English Alpine Club, who had accompanied the guide, assisted the injured .man for several miles. When Guide Fluety, who had come up to the Aylmer Hut to relieve Guide Lysons, did not find the party at the liut, he went in search and met Miss Corry on the way for assistance. The two went back and conveyed the injured man to the Aylmer Hut (several miles up the glacier) from where Guide Fluety went to Wailio for medical assistance, a visiting doctor being available.
