FALL FROM CHURCH ROOF.
INJURIES TO PAINTER. WHANGAREI, Jan. 25. When engaged in painting the Presbyterian Church in Bank Street, Air William Tucker, aged 23, slipped on the steep roof and fell 18ft on to the footpath in Hunt Street, landing oil his heels. His father, Air W. R. Tucker, who is the contractor for the work, found his son considerably sha.ken and with a broken nose and the muscles of his legs severely strained. A doctor attended the injured, man, who was taken to his home.
By a strange coincidence the only other accident which has occurred on work carried out under the supervision of Air W. R. Tucker during his many years contracting was when he himself fell from the same building 25 years ago when it was being painted for the first time.
