THE POLAR MEDAL.
AWARDS TO ARCTIC AIR ROUTE EXPEDITION. The following announcement appeared in the London Gazette in November: — His Majesty the King lias been graciously pleased to approve of the Polar Medal, in silver, with clasp inscribed “Arctic, 1930-1931,” being granted to the undermentioned members of the British Arctic Air Route Expedition, 1930-1931: - Henry George Watkins (deceased), Surgeon Lieutenant Edward William Bingham, M. 8., R.N., Frederick Spencer Chapman, Augustine Courtauld, Flight Lieutenant Henry Uiffe Cozens, R.A.F., Flight Lieutenant Narbrough Hughes D’Aeth, R.A.F., William Edward Hampton, Ca.ptain Percy Lemon, Royal Corps of Signals (deceased). Lieutenant Martin Lindsay, Royal Scots Fusiliers, Quintin Riley, John Robert Rymill, James Maurice Scott, Alfred Stephenson, Lawrence Richard Wager.
