(From Our Own Correspondent.) T 1 AKITAIIUNA, Dec. 17. There was quite a number of parents and friends at the annual school breakup and sports, hold on Friday afternoon. A. Shader 3. 100yds open A. Nielsen 1, A. Mayhew 2 B. Rowland 3. 75vds, under li P. Nielson 1, B. Mayhew 2, K Rowland 3. Three-legged race, A. and G. Shader 1. A. and L. Rowland 2. High jump, open, 11. Shader 1, A. Nielsen 2, A. Mayhew 3. High jump, under 11 years, B. Mayhew 1. It. Shader 2, L. Voss 3. After the sports the school prizes were presented by Mr Richardson. Books which were given by Mr Richardson were received hv Noeline \oss and Inr.es Rowland for obtaining the highest aggr p ff ato marks for the three examination a during the year. Runners-up for the annuals were Brian Mayhew and Dorothy Dampney. who received prizes. Mr Bennet’s special prize for the highest marks in proficiency went to Iris Morlev. Attendance certificates were received by 1 hyliss Voss, Iris Morlev, Joan Maffey. Joan McEwen and Arnold Rowland. A proficiency certificate was presented to Iris Morlev and competency certificates to Joan Maffev and limes Rowland. the chairman, Mr Richardson, regretted losing (be services of the sewing mistress Airs G’roucher, who had done very good work. He also thanked the parents and friends for coming along to help make the afternoon such a success 1 J lO , teacher said that he could not let the opportunity pass without specially thanking Mr Richardson for the books that he' so generously donated each year. lie also mentioned that, considering the change of teachers during Uie year lhe children had progressed favourably. Afternoon tea was served.
