EMBARGO ON AUSTRALIAN SUPPLIES. Per Press Association, WELLINGTON, Deo, 15, An embargo on Australian fruit and vegetables was announced by the Minister of Customs to-night. It will not apply to fruit and vegetables exported from Australia on or before December 16. In a statement, Hon, W, Downie Stewart says the Government for a long time unsuccessfully endeavoured to secure the removal by the Commonwealth of the embargo on New Zealand fruit and fruit plants.
