UNITED EVANGELICAL CHURCH.
(To the Editor.) Sir, —In your issue of the 14th there appeared a statement concerning Rev. A. A. Murray’s association with the United Evangelical Church in Palmerston North. So that there may not be any misunderstanding in regard to the matter, will you permit me as pastor of the Church to make a statement. The Church now known by the name mentioned above was formed about ten years ago following a great mission conducted by Dr. French E. ' Oliver in this city. It was decided to affiliate with the newly formed church in Auckland, known as the “United Evangelical Church in New Zealand,” of which Rev. A. A. Murray was the minister. Approximately. three years ago, affiliation with that body was cancelled, the Church in Palmerston North becoming an entirely independent Christian body, carrying on under the name of the United Evangelical Church, dropping the affix “in New Zealand.” Good progress has been made under independent management when a new church has been built and the congregation is steadily increasing in numbers. ITte Church stands for the absolute inerrancy of the whole Bible in the original languages and preaches the Bible as a whole. —I am, etc., PASTOR WESLEV E. RICHARDS.
