HOROWHENUA.
(From Our Own Correspondent.) OTAKI. Dec. 12. A children’s ball was held at Otaki when the fancy dresses were amongst the best seen in the district for years. As a result £l7 was cleared for the school funds. A lorry, believed to belong to a Marton firm, on Saturday ran over the bank at Paekaknriki and was badly damaged. Constable Grainger has been transferred from Levin to Waipawa, where he will be in charge. Constable Warren has been appointed to Levin. A conference of Women’s Institutes from Manakau to Paraparaumu will be held at Otaki in February.
