The Mayfair Tennis Club, of Palmerston North, paid a week-end visit for a friendly tennis match and won by 13 sets and 87 games to 3 sets and 62 games. Results aro as follow, Mayfair names being mentioned first:—Ladies’ singles: Mrs. Travers beat Miss Capp 6—l, Miss Kempson beat Miss E. Green 6 —3, Miss IC. McKenzie lost to Miss Eglinton 3—6, Miss V. McKenzie lost to Mis 30. Green 3—6. Men’s singles: Antony beat Martin 6—2, Travers beat Clark 6 —3, Cosgravo beat Kirkland 6—4, Bodell beat Eglinton 6—5. Ladies’ doubles: Mrs Travers and Miss V. McKenzie beat Misses Capp and E. Green 6—4, Misses Kempson and E. McKenzie bent Misses Eglinton and O. Green 6—l. Men's doubles: Antony and Cosgrave beat Martin and Clark 6—5, Travers and Bodell beat Kirkland and Eglinton 6 —3. Mixed doubles: Miss K. McKenzie and Antony. beat Miss Capp and Martin 6—4, Miss V. McKenzie and Travers lost to Miss E. Green and Clark 3—6, Mrs Travers and Cosgrave beat Miss Eglinton and Kirkland 6 —4, Miss Kempson and Bodell beat Miss 0. Green and Eglinton 6—5. Mr and Mrs L. Clark were accorded a large “house-warming” party on Friday night. A happy evening was spent in games and dancing.
