CHRISTMAS TRAFFIC.

RESTRICTIONS IN SQUARE. MATTER NOT REOPENED. Making further representations concerning the Christmas traffic restrictions in the Square, Messrs G. H. Bennett, A. Hopwood and Jas. Wallace last week waited on the Mayor (Mr A. E. Mansford) and were informed that the matter would be discussed last evening, with a view to permitting them to interview the transit committee of the City Council on Thursday. The matter was brought forward at a meeting of the council’s works committee last evening, but objections were raised, on points of order, by several councillors, to reopening the matter, the outcome being that it cannot be discussed for a further three months, and no further representations can be made to the transit committee.
