BIPORT'S TO BRITAIN

Received December 13, 1.6 p.m. LONDON, Dec. 12,

In the House of Commons, the Financial Secretary to tho Treasury, Major Hore-Belisha, told a questioner that British imports- of gold bullion and coin from India from September 21, 1931, when the gold standard was suspended, to December 9, 1932, totalled millions sterling. Only a small proportion was in sovereigns valued at par. The remainder was valued at the current gold price. The figures did not indicate the final destination of the gold.
