At the wool sales 7823 hales were offered, including 2606 from Now Zealand, and about 5913 were sold. There was a good selection and active Home and Continental competition. The better growths realised full rates; the crossbreds and inferior Merinos sold irregularly ’cf ' lower than the recent rates. New Zealand realisations: Greasy lialfbred, Claverley, top price lid, average 101 d; Ilakowhai, top price BJd, average 7d.
