RANGITIKEI.
MARTON, Dec. 7. Visitors were present in Marlon from Hawke’s Bay, Wellington, New Plymouth, and the Wairarapa at the wedding on November 30 of Ethel Veda HaLc to Dilnot Bristow Sladden, both of Marton. The ceremony took place at St. Church, and was conducted by Rev. B. D. Ashcroft. The bride is the younger daughter of Mrs liaise, of Marton,.and the late Mr R. W. Halse, and the bridegroom the only son of Mr and Mrs P. J. Sladden, of Marton. The bride, who entered the church with her brother, Mr C. C. Halse, wore a beautiful model frock of parchment lace over peach georgette, made on long, slim lines, with a train falling from the waist. The bodice was trimmed with pearls, and the sleeve** were long and tiglitiitting, puffed at the elbow. A veil and orange blossom wore worn, and she carried a bouquet of roses and morphiscia and maidenhair fern, made by Mrs R. T. C. Scott. Miss Nancy Fannin, of Hastings, attended the bride, wearing cream sprigged muslin fitted to the knees, the skirt with insets of tiny frills. The sleeves were short and puffed. A delphinium blue hat, shoes and sash completed a dainty ensemble, and she carried a bouquet of blue delphiniums and nigella and maidenhair fern. Two small pages, Richard Fcnwicke. and Dick Halse, nephews of the bride, wore long brown velvet trousers, with dull peach eat in blouso and pleated collar and cuffs. Mr J. Swaineon, of Silverliope, was beet man, and Messrs John Openshaw and V. X. Fullerton-Smfth acted as ushers. After the ceremony a reception was held at the residence of the bride’s sister, Mrs Colin Fcnwicke, where the bridal party, standing under a handsome wedding bell on the verandah, greeted the guests. Tea was served at little tables set under the trees in the garden. Mrs Halse, mother of the bride, wore a model frock of black georgetto over peach georgette, and line black straw hat. Mm P. J. Sladden wore navy blue crepe de chine ensemble with floral top, and navy hat to rone. When Mr and Mrs Sladden left, the latter wore a delphinium blue corduroy velvet isuit, with biscuit Bangkok hat.
