ALL SAINTS’ CHURCH

MISSIONARY GUILD PARTY

The Missionary Guild of All Saints’ Church held a garden party on tho grounds of tho vicarage yesterday afternoon. Canon. G. Y. Woodward welcomed the visitors and tho function was officially opened by tho Mayoress (Mrs A. E. Mansford). , Tho stall-holders were ns follow: Fancy work, Mrs Burns, Misses Gaustad, Pasley, Dawick and Cutler; produce, Mrs Langridge, Misses Cm.rk, Harwood and Woodward: sweets, Misses Hands, Co'wburn and Bradley. The afternoon tea arrangements were directed by Mrs N. Metcalfe and helpers. Mesdamcs Briden-Jones, Eekersley and Bennett were in charge Of competition games, and fancy dancing bv the children was supervised by Miss G. Hands. First prize for sponge sandwiches was won by Mrs Harold Dawick, with Miss Rita Ensom second. Mrs Taylor was awarded first prize for scones. Quoits were won by Miss Woodward. Croquet competitions resulted as follow-: Clock, Miss Pasley; ladder, Mrs Bovis; ta.rget, Miss Paisley. The guessing competition for the cake (91bs 3ozs) was won by Miss C. Clark, who guessed the correct w-eiglit. The doll was won by Mrs Remvick.
