CHURCH SERVICES.
The services to-morrow at the Cuba Street Church will be conducted by Rev. J. D. McArthur. At 11 the study will be “Jeremiah.” At 7 p.m. the cantata, “Day and Night,” will bo rendered by a fine choir, the soloists being Miss Birch, Mrs Coupe, Messrs Lang and A. McLeavey. This is a fine piece of work and the presentation on Thursday evening last drew many expressions of warm appreciation. The broadcast from 2ZO at 10 a.m. will be conducted by Mr McArthur, while the 2.30 p.m. service at Longburn is in charge of Mr J. D. Watson.
At St. Paul’s Church on Sunday the preacher will be Rev. Mr Slade, ALA., of Levin. This is a good opportunity to hear one of the most effective ministers of the Methodist Church. Mrs H. Cunninghame will sing a solo. Mr Grinstead -will speak at the Communion sendee in the Church of Christ tomorrow. Evangelist Hinrichsen will preside. “Why we do not Sprinkle Infants” is Mr Hinrichsen’s subject for the evening service. Every member is expected to attend the special mission anniversary sen-ice on Wednesday. Visiting speakers will take part in the programme, after which there will be a social cup of tea. “War, War —Blood Against Blood” is the special subject for discussion in the Berean Hall, Main Street, to-morrow evening at 7. The speaker proposes to offer a strong indictment against modern civilisation and at the same time take the responsibility of offering the only possible remedy.
