The prison at Northallerton, Yorkshire, which has not been used since 1921, is not to be sold, the Commissioners having decided that it shall bo kept for emergency purposes. Tho programme which is being arranged for this year’s aerial pageant by tho Manawatu Aero Club with the co-operation of other Aero Clubs and aircraft owners, promises to be a specially attractive one and is being organised along lines somewhat new to aerial displays. The bombing, lauding and other similar contests for . club pilots are being held in, the morning, as theso events while very interesting to the various dubs and pilots, are somewhat “slow” to the public. For the general public’s entertainment all the spectacular events are being crowded into a two hour's display in the afternoon and the crack stunt pilots of New Zealand will bo engaged in this portion of the programme only. One of tho events that will undoubtedly thrill tho public will be a fight ill the air between Squadron-Leader McGregor and Flight-Lieutenant Bolt, and another event that has never been seen in this district is an exhibition of crazy flying. This novel flying exhibition was originated by Flight-Lieutenant Atcherlev, ■who won the world’s speed record for England in tho Schneider Cup raco a few years ago, and when in England tho same timo Flight-Lieutenant Bolt learned the methods of this spectacular event, and will give an exhibition at Milson. Flying-Officer Gerrand, of Hastings, a Royal Air Force, trained pilot, FlightLieutenant Buckridgo,, of Masterton, Fy-ing-Officer Keith, of New Plymouth, and Flying-Officer Allen, Auckland’s stunt pilot, will also probably be there- to thrill the crowd.
