SWIMMER’S PROTEST
Per Press Association. AUCKLAND, Nov. 2. In connection with the complaint by Miss M. O’Meara, the Auckland swimmer, that during the Olympic Games in Los Angeles she was discourteously treated by the manager of the New Zealand team, Mr P. N. Handle, who, she alleged, had refused to obtain visitors’ privileges for her, the New Zealand Swimming Council advised the Auckland Centro to seek an explanation from Mr Handle himself. However, the Centro decided to request the New Zealand Olympic and Empire Games Association to obtain this explanation from Mr Handle. Furthermore, it was decided to notify Air Handle of the action being taken by the Centre and to send him a copy of the Centre’s letter to the Olympic branch.
