from PoD.C Tlie Girl wlio knows wliat other girls want O X J Used to work in an office, so I know just. what its like trying to buy things in lunch hours and Saturday evenings and dashing frantically from shop to shop to get what you want. Now at P.D.C. a girl can get what she’s looking for from frillings to frockings, marvellous service too, and with a smile. Our girls really are wonderful! YOU see P.D.C.’s like a huge pie full of the very newest novelties—hats—and undies —and accessories, and I’ve got the exciting job picking out the plums and telling you all about them. I have the run of the shop and dash around with my note book getting in everyone’s way, poking my nose into the cases just as soon as they are opened— And this is what I’ve found you this week = WELL, first of all there are the glove week bargains. “ Positively astounding,” I heard a customer say this morning—and so they.are. I saw rayon silk which were 5/11, now 2/11 —I’ve sketched you some to let you see how new the styles are—lovely shades in suedette for 1/11, nappa kid only 4/11, and the smartest of white washable doeskin for 8/11 —they were 10/6 before! You’ll all be i rushing in to see them, I’m sure. I • ' YOU’LL want a spotty scarf too (2/11 scarf week) tied in a bow to be really up-to-date. I saw some adorable scarves to-day—-you would never believe that one store could have such a variety and every one at a special price for this week only. There are the cutest v/indsor ties at an amazing price—l/—would you believe it? And you’ll love the way the colours are blended in the diagonal striped ones at 5/11. the dress goods I’ve found you the most exciting striped voiles. And the price my dears —only 2/3 yard! The colours are gayer than a flower show. There are four different tonings but only a few yards of each so you won’t see yourself everywhere you go. They will make the most intriguing little frocks and if worn with one of those cute white felt sailors (only 15/6) will be just too smart for words. J want to tell you of the new mesh stockings —there’s something so fluttery and feminine about them and they’re terribly smart. The most marvellous thing about them tho’ is the price—only 2/11! There are others from 3/6 to 8/11 all in the most gorgeous shades. Goodness me—l could go on and on there are so many things to talk about—but I must stop—no more space, but I’m brimful of ideas—and so’s P.D.C.! More next week ! POP IN TO op I $ % V p RED HOT NEWS! 3 doz. Handbags at only 4/6; they ought to be 6/11, but I persuaded Mr Wallace to let me have a really staggering line to finish up with charming style—good colours and NEW!
