I From Our Own Correspondent.) BUNNYTHORPE, Nov. 21. A kitchen afternoon tea party was tendered to Miss Myrtle Ransfcn in the hall on Wednesday afternoon. Miss Ranson is. to be married at an early date. The guest took an active part in movements during the years sho resided in Bunnythorpo and received many useful presents, the expression of good wishes for her future married life. A most enjoyable afternoon was spent. On Friday evening a Maori concert party from Awahuri gave an interesting concert in the hall, when there was a very good attendance. . , . , The Tennis Club held their annual mixed doubles tournament amongst their own players when there was a good attendance. Tho matches resulted as follow:—First round: H. Waugh and Miss Mitchell (plus 7) 30, beat Mr and Mrs Baker (plus 5) 25; G. Grant and Miss W. Robson (plus 5) 23, lost R. Mitchell and Miss Godfrey (minus 5) 30; H. Godfrey and Miss E. Robson (minus 5) 20, lost to W. Sutherland, and Mrs Jackson (minus 5) 30; L. Duthie and Mrs Greig (minus 7} 30, beat C. Pentecost and Miss Gore (scr.) 22; J. Gore and Miss Pentecost (plus 3) 30, beat H. Robson and Miss O'Donnell (plus 5) 23; M. Atkins and Miss Cheatham (plus 10) 21, lost 0. Jackson and Miss Scheidt (plus 5) 30; H. Baker and Miss A. Schcidt won by default. Second round: H. Waugh and Miss Mitchell 21, lost to R. Mitchell and Miss Godfrey 30; R. Mitchell and Miss Godfrey 25. Afternoon tea was provided and a enjoyable game of tennis was indulged in. The following players will represent the club against Bulls at Bulls on Saturday next: Misses E. and W. Robson, M. Godfrey, Mrs Greig, Mrs Jackson, H. Robson, L. Duthie, W. Sutherland and B. Williamson.
