DEPARTING JOURNALIST. SYDNEY, Oct. 10. Mr Hugo Freeth was farewelled by the Sydney Morning Herald Btaffs on leaving to assume the editorship of the Press, Christchurch. Mr Bruusdon Fletcher, editor of the Herald, eulogised Mr Freeth’s fine work and manly character among hi 3 colleagues. He said that while regretting Mr Freeth’s departure, all felt that they should share in the congratulations that their guest was going to edit a paper which had played an important part in New Zealand’s development.
