PENALTY FOR THEFT.
Per Press Association. AUCKLAND, Oct. 3. Two years’ reformative detention was the sentence passed by Mr J ustice Smith on Frederick Deuchar iucVay, 'until recently secretary of the Takapuna Jockey Club, who stole £fi44 of the club’s funds. His counsel said that McVay intended on his release to lead a fresh life and live down the past.
