(From Oar Own Correspondent.) CARNARVON, Sept. 23. The interior of the Carnarvon Hall presented a very pay and animated scene last Friday evening, when the annual fancy dress ball of the Clydesdale School children was hold. It was, as usual, a most successful function both socially and financially. The children’s dresses were most colourful and varied and showed off to advantage in the grand malch and their other dances, for which they had been practising for weeks past. The judges, Mesdames Warren and Christie, had an un-

enviable task, but their awards met with genoral satisfaction. During the evening iUr McKenzie, on behalf of the School Committee, returned thanks to all who had worked so hard to make the ball 60 s cessful. A spot waltz for the adults was won by Miss W. Clare and Mr A. Webby.
