SIGNALS PICKED UP. (United Press Association —By Electric Telegraph.-—Copyright.) Received September 29, 1.10 p.m. WASHINGTON, Sept. 28. The Navy Department to-day received a radio message, intercepted at the American radio station at St. Paul, Alaska, and sent by the Japanese radio station at Otchinshi, which reads: “Our ’plane is at the top of the River Manianu in Alaska where they are signalling with gunfire and lights.”
An aeroplane left Japan on the 24th inst for a non-stop flight to Nome, Alaska, and as no word has been received for some days anxiety was felt regarding the safety of the three airmen.
