CONSEQUENCES OF RECOGNITION.

SHANGHAI, Sept. 13. Nanking official Press circles express grave fears of the consequences of the Japanese recognition of Manchukuo, which is expected to-morrow. It is believed it will inevitably cause violent reactions throughout China. Though the Chinese authorities are taking every possible precaution, it is feared the populace will be driven to violent Emotions and may get beyond control.

Developments are also feared in North China, where it is thought that as soon as recognition is accomplished the Japanese troops will commence the long-awaited offensive into the Jehol and Shanliaikuan region, thereby exerting strong pressure on Pekin and Tientsin.

APPROVAL OF PRECEDURE,

TOKIO, Sept. 13. The Privy Council to-day in the presence of the Emperor unanimously approved of the procedure for the recognition of tho State of Manchukuo. Tho protocol will be signed at Changchun on Thursday and will be promulgated forthwith.

BANDIT'S 'WRECK TRAIN

TOKIO, Sept. 12. On Sunday night bandits removed the rails, wrecking a train from Changchow, 40 miles south of Harbin. They killed five Japanese, looted the passengers and captured several, six of whom are reported to Ixj Europeans.
