NAPIER HARBOUR BOARD.

BASIS OF FUTURE POLICY

Per Press Association. NAPIER, Sept. 12. The Harbour to-day decided to follow the advice of the engineers, Messrs Furkert and Hoklerness, by adopting their report as the basis of the board’s future policy of harbour construction and development and set up committees to put tho recommendations into immediate effect.

The board also decided to approach the Government to appoint a commission with the same wide powers as the Napier Commission to assume control of harbour affairs at Napier and carry out the programme of works outlined by the board and based on the advice of Messrs Furkert and Holderness.
