MATCH IN TARANAKI
Per Tress Association. NEW PLYMOUTH, Sept. 11. After a lapse of 18 years tlio Rugby League team was reintroduced to Taranaki when, in the presence of about 5000 spectators, reinforced Ponsonby and Devonport teams (both Auckland) played a drawn game, the scores being 28 all. The teams contained a dozen All Black players.
SYDNEY COMPETITION.
SYDNEY, Sept. 11. In the semi-final for tho Rugby League premiership, Western Suburbs beat Balmain by 15 points to 7.
