PIGS FOR MARKET.

ATTITUDE OF ASSOCIATION

NO FUSION OF INTERESTS,

. HAMILTON, Aug. 26. When approached on the subject of the marketing of pigs for export, the secretary of the New Zealand Cooperative Pig Marketing Association, Mr G. F, Saunders, said he had no knowledge of the question having been considered by the Dominion Cooperative Farm Products Federation. No suggestions had been received from that or any other organisation regarding tho fusion of interests. The Pig Marketing Association received representations from the Northern Wairoa, Gisborne, Manawatu and Wanganui districts to extend the operations of tire association for the benefit of pig producers in those districts. Mr Saunders said he did not think Iris directors would favourably consider any suggestion of fusion with other interests as far as pigs were concerned, but the directors had submitted representations to a “bobby” calf concern with the object of having one efficient collecting organisation to collect both pigs and calves.
