INTER-CLUB SKI MEETING.
pfir PrG'.s Association. THE HERMITAGE, Aug. 26. About ninety competitors are quartered at the Ball Hut for the South Island inter-club ski meeting, which opened on the slope near the hut to‘day. The meeting is considered the largest yet held. The South Island i.s represented by four of the principal winter sports clubs. After ideal conditions early in the week, the weather broke last night, strong wind and rain being in evidence. A slight thaw this morning made the snow tricky, necessitating a change in the programme. The downhill event was postponed till the conditions improve. Results are as ■ Men’s sloarn: Tasman .Ski Club, VX) points; Canterbury Winter Sports Club, b 1.12; Christchurch Ski Club, 73.86. Ladies’: Church Ski Club,_loo; Tas-man-Aorangi combined, 66.55; Canterbury Winter Sports Club, 00.4. Cross-country, seven miles: Tasrcian Club, 100; Christchurch Ski Club, 86.30; Canterbury Winter Sports Club, 82.28; Aorangi Ski Club, 82.50.
