There was a good attendance at the Bulls Croquet Club's euchre party, held 1 in the pavilion on Thursday afternoon, and j Mrs Fred Simpson Ohakea) proved the' winner after a tie with Mrs L. V. Homes, jj There are four nominations for three seats automatically rendered . vacant on the committee of tho Rnngitikei Racing Club, and a postal ballot is being taken to decide the matter. Members of the Rangitikei Ladies’ Golf Club held an ail-dav tournament on the 1 links on Thursday. The weather was de- ' iightiul, and a large number of players i took part. Canadian foursomes' were played in the morning, the winners being Mrs ;: Watson and Miss Tricker. and the runners- '■ up Mrs McDonell and Mrs Harris. In the j afternoon a stroke competition was played, ; the best cards handed in being as follow: —■; Miss R. McKelvie 100 —30— 1 0; Miss C. ,' Wilson 83—11—72: Miss Price IC3—36—. 72: Mrs Harris 104 —31—73; and Mrs Do ' Burgh 95—21—74. The first round of the ! ladies’ championships will be played on l Monday, play commencing at 10 a-m.
