COTTON DISPUTE.

POSITION HOPEFUL. (British Official Wireless.) RUGBY, Aug. 24. The Deputy-Mayor of Manchester stated to-day that certain misunderstandings in the Lancashire cotton dispute had been removed, making possible negotiations between the employers and men at a conference tomorrow.

Ho added that tlio position was hopeful, and that he trusted a settlement would lie reached shortly.
