GOLF AT ROTORUA
MANAWATU PLAYER REACHES SEMI-FINAL. Per Press Association. AUCKLAND, Aug. 25. The Rotorua golf open championship semi-finals resulted as follow:- —F. C. Fryer, Napierj beat O. H. Williams, Manawatu, 2 and 1; G. Tallis, Auckland, beat J. Goss, Wanganui, 1 up at the nineteenth. In the first qualifying round Williams beat W. H. Fulton (Manukau) 2 and 1 ; in the second. It. F. Edmonds (Hamilton) 1 up, and in the third, It. Itainger (Auckland) 3 and 2. K. Glendinning (Manawatu) was eliminated in the second round by Goss, 2 and 1.
WEST COAST TOURNEY
Per Press Association. WESTPORT, Aug. 25. The West Coast golf championships were continued to-day in perfect weather. A. K. Smith (Greymouth) and T. Park (Westport) emerged as semi-final-ists iji the men’s championship, and Mrs Walker (Westport) and Mrs Hannan (Greymouth) as semi-finalists of the ladies’ championship.
