ALLEGED THEFT OF DRUG.
AUCKLAND, Aug. 24
As the result of inquiries made by Detectives Hunt and Mahood after their arrest of Norman Kenneth Sligo near Grafton Bridge on Monday afternoon, on a charge of being in possession of dangerous drugs, the same two detectives, at 1.30 this morning arrested a second suspect, a young man. He appeared before Air AV. R. McKean, S.M.j in the Police Court this morning, charged with stealing, on August 10, eight tubes of adrenalin aiuL cocaine, two tubes of cocaine hydro, five tubes of half-grain morphine, a box of 12 needles, one bottle of novocain, and one record syringe, of a total value of £3 4s 9d. Detective-Sergeant Kelly said the other man arrested had been remanded He asked that accused should ho remanded until August 30. “This is the man who supplied the first man arrested with the ‘dope’ and needles, said Air Kelly. “He was employed as traveller bv a wholesale store, and ® allege that he gave the other man the ‘dope,’ therefore indulging in this f °Suppression ordered by th CouS S Sd’that accused was a U “ ma „ 0 f excellent character, and good explanation to make to the Ch Accused was remanded and bail was allowed in a surety of £4o.
