GOLF IN AUSTRALIA.
CHAMPIONSHIP TOURNAMENT.
ADELAIDE, Aug. 24
The weather was favourable for the continuation of play at the golf championship tournament to-day. In the semi-finals of tho men’s amateur championship G. Naisniith beat Richardson, 2 and 1; McMahon heat McLachlan, 3 and 2; Ifettington beat Nottlefold, 3 and 2; Williams beat Winser, 7 and 6.
In the women’s championship first round, Miss Nell Marrie, 41 and 42, with a birdie of 2 at the fourteenth, is one ahead of Miss Susie Tolhurst.
