(I‘rom Our Own Correspondent.) RAXCIOTU. Aug. 23. The Rangiotu School held its breakingup ceremony for the winter vacation in the public hall Inst Friday afternoon, when there was a good attendance of parents and friends. Their attendance was fully rewarded by tho excellent concert programme submitted by the pupils under the baton of Miss Feist, assistant schoolmistress. .Much credit is due to the teaching staff, who j had trained the children in their varied parts, their acting and singing being special features of the programme. Master Winston Moore capably carried out the duties of M.C. The following were the items:—Mandoline guitar solo. Miss Ethel Wood: nursery rhymes, the Juniors; pincette. “Nan's Brother,” performed by senior pupils. Rona Russell. Nellie Barnes', Molly Riekerbv, Freddie King and Rayti/il Bond; [ recitation, “Tho Elfmati," Lewis Chapman. : song, “The Night Riders,” the Senior | Pupils. A play “Red Riding Hood.” Heni (’arkeek (Red Riding Hood), Waitohi Larkins (mother). Jimm.v Duncan (Woodman) and Muster (’arkeek (the wolf); recitation, Jack Jenkins; lullaby song, Georgina Chapman, Waitohi Larkin and Ilctii Carkeek: recitation, “Autumn Leaves.” Mana Thompson; sketch. “Ten Little Nigger hoys.” junior and Senior hove; song, j “Fairy Glade,” Seniors; pianoforte solo, J. Jenkins: -song, “The Traill,” Juniors; playettc, “The Tea l’artv.” performed by Trixie Haylott. Betty Shaw, Polly Larkins
