WEST END BOY SCOUTS.
A meeting of the committee of the West End Scout troop was held on August 18 at the residence of Mr P. Speedy. Those present wore: Mesdames McLean, Warner, Speedy, Stedlinui treasurer), Messrs Speedy (chairman (treasurer), Messrs Speedy, Sted(Scoutmaster) and McLean (secretary) ; also Mr N. D. Stubbs, Scout Commissioner. Tlio drawing of the coal competition took place, little Tom Speedy being called upon to draw the winning ticket which was held by Mrs Joromson, 21 Weston Avenue. The committeo hopes to raise lunds to buy a trek cart, tents and equipment which are needed to help the troops in their training. Scoutmaster Stevenson reported that good progress had been made by tho boys. Tho following boys had recently passed their tenderfoot badges: Scouts Billons, Seiverts, Andrews and Lindsay. Troop Leader Collins also passed his King’s Scout badge test, and all-round cord. Mesdames Warner and McLean were appointed a visiting committee for tho month.
