The prospect that Sir Malcolm Campbell may race on tho dry hod of Lako George has aroused enthusiasm m tho district between Goulburn and Canberra. . The district claims to have convinced Air F. H. Stewart that the unvarying level of tho natural 15 miles . of speedway makes the lako bed far superior to the uncertain Ninety Milo Beach in New Zealand. Mr Stewart says that an invitation will probably he ’ sent to Sir Malcolm Campbell. A speed trial on Lake Georgo would represent a most remarkable transformation. A generation ago, before its water mysteriously disappeared, Lako George figured in international sculling when tho New Zealander Stevenson defeated Bubear (England) and Miller (Australia) in a three mile event.
