THE WEATHER
GENERAL FORECAST. Tho recent despression is now moving away eastward; a very intense anti-cyclone covers eastern Australia. South-west to southerly winds; moderate mainly hut strong in exposed positions. Seas rather rough to rough in New Zealand waters, but decreasing gradually. Strong but decreasing southerly winds in the eastern Tasman Sea; seas rough but moderating. Weather: Further showers in the far south and on scattered parts of the coast elsewhere; otherwise fair .to fine. Cold night but mild day temperatures.
