LONDON, June 25. A notorious tobacco smuggler, Louis Lesser, who, in 1930, was fined £5740, has now been fined £15,000 or six months’ imprisonment, for smuggling another ton, secreted in an old submarine chaser. Lesser smiled and winked when the magistrate remarked: “You probably know the limit of my jurisdiction.”
